The invention provides a method and apparatus for the rotary draw bending of pipe and tube having means to apply an axial boost force to the trailing end of the tube during the bending operation, which force assists in controlling the flow of tube material into the bend. The apparatus has means to monitor the amount of material being used during each bending operation and means to control the amount of boost applied to the tube whereby the bending operation can be controlled to better achieve desired elongation characteristics. Bent tubes to a consistent standard and quality are obtained.
L'invention porte sur une méthode et un appareil permettant de courber les tuyaux et tubes produits par étirement en presse rotative. Une force axiale dirigée verticalement est appliquée sur l'extrémité arrière du tube pendant l'opération de courbure, contribuant à réguler la quantité de matériel venant former le coude. L'appareil compte des moyens pour déterminer la quantité de matériel utilisé durant chaque opération de courbure et aussi des moyens pour réguler l'ampleur de la force verticale imposée au tube, ce qui permet de compléter l'opération de courbure en obtenant de meilleurs résultats quant à l'allongement du tube. Il en résulte des tubes courbés satisfaisant davantage aux normes et de plus grande qualité.
