A tube clamp apparatus designed to be part of a moveable or portable structure, such as a large telescope, and having a truss clamp body and a hand wheel with a clamping screw integrally connected thereto. Two holes are drilled, one into the intended clamping surface for the insertion of a tapped hole or a threaded insert, and the other through the truss tube. The body of the tube clamp apparatus is then placed over the tube, the holes are aligned, and the hand wheel is installed , the hand wheel passing through the clamp body and the tube center, and into the intended clamping surface. By virtue of the cylindrical design of the body, and with only one fastener at its center, the tube clamp apparatus can be set at any angle within a 360 degree arc, along the plane of the clamping surface, and can withstand high radial loads.
