An intrinsic gauging device for a ferrule type tube fitting (10) of the type having a coupling nut (14), a coupling body (12) and at least one ferrule (32), includes a precisely formed marking on the coupling body that is visually perceptible when the coupling is in a finger tight position, and that is covered or visually imperceptible or otherwise has a predetermined relationship with the coupling nut when the fitting has been initially pulled-up. In a preferred form, the marking is realized as a precision groove (50) or recess machined into a surface of the coupling body. The groove can be made more easily visually perceptible such as by roughening or knurling the surface, or coloring the surface, for example. The groove defines an edge (50b) at a precise position that corresponds to a predetermined axial displacement of the nut relative to the body for initial pull-up. The marking may also be formed with a precise dimension such as an axial length to provide a second edge that corresponds to a predetermined axial displacement of the nut relative to the body beyond initial pull-up for fitting assemblies that are remade.
L'invention concerne un dispositif de jaugeage incorporé pour raccord (10) à bague comprenant un écrou de raccordement (14), un corps de raccordement (12) et au moins une bague (32). Ledit dispositif comprend un marquage précis sur le corps de raccordement, perceptible à l'oeil nu lorsque le raccordement est en position de serrage à la main, et recouvert ou imperceptible à l'oeil nu ou présentant une relation prédéterminée avec l'écrou de raccordement lors du mouvement de traction initial du raccord. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, la marquage est une rainure (50) ou cavité de précision façonnée dans une surface du corps de raccordement. La rainure peut être rendue plus facilement perceptible à l'oeil nu, par exemple par grossissage, par moletage ou par coloration de la surface. La rainure définit un bord (50b) sur une position précise qui correspond à un déplacement axial prédéterminé de l'écrou par rapport au corps lors du mouvement de traction initial. Le marquage peut également être de dimension précise, par exemple une longueur axiale, constituant un second bord qui correspond à un déplacement axial prédéterminé de l'écrou par rapport au corps au-delà du mouvement de traction initial pour les ensembles de raccordement refaits.
