TUBE ROLL JOINT SYSTEM ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A tube joint rolling tool for cold rolling the end of a tube and an insert into swaged sealing relation with a tube sheet is provided having an unusual range of expansion capability for its thrust transfer mechanism and also for its swaging rolls, to permit the tool to be inserted through a restricted access aperture and then expanded into thrust transfer relation with the face of the tube sheet, and to have the swaging rolls expanded to roll a joint having a swaging surface at a diameter in excess of the diameter of the restricted access aperture. The improved tool permits rapid machine joint rolling in the retubing of CANDUTM-type nuclear reactors, with no exposure of humans in the radioactive environment.
