S P E C I F I C A T I O N "Tube with welded bottom designed in particular for making high-pressure gas springs" ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An open-ended tube has one of its wall edges bent radially inwardly to form an inner annular pro- trusion bounding an opening of smaller diameter than the inner diameter of the tube, while the other wall edge of the tube remains unaffected. A disc-shaped cap of a diameter intermediate the inner diameter of the tube and said smaller diameter of the opening, is freely introduced into the interior of the tube through its unaffected end, to engage the end protrusion.It is finally welded in position while being firmly held abutted against this end protrusion.
