TUBING WITH INSIDE OXIDE LAYER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A tube made of copper or a copper alloy has on the inside a copper oxide layer with a thickness of not larger than a 0.1 micrometers but thicker than about 0.2 micrometers with a grain size of not exceeding 0.05 micrometers, and a copper oxide crystal structure of the (1,1,1) orientation variety, such that the layer will remain crackfree and not spalling even if the tubing following application of the layer has been deformed through drawing or bending.
