A tubular fuel cell which is formed into a tubular shape by bending, and is advantageous for downsizing its sectional size, that is, its volume, and a production method therefor. The tubular fuel cell (1) comprises a tubular membrane electrode joint body (2) and a collector (6) disposed on the membrane electrode joint body (2). The membrane electrode joint body (2) has an ion conduction membrane (3), a fuel side electrode (4) disposed on one side in the thickness direction of the ion conduction membrane (3), and an oxidizer side electrode (5) disposed on the other side in the thickness direction of the ion conduction membrane (3). The membrane electrode joint body (2) has a shape bent in a folding back direction at a section along a direction crossing the longitudinal direction of the tubular fuel cell (1).
