A tubular skylight (10) having an improved dome (20) improving the efficiency of the skylight. The dome includes an integral prism in a portion (68) of its outer surface to reflect light downwardly through the skylight. The dome is hemispherical and the prism includes a plurality of grooves extending along great circles that pass through the apex of the dome. The prism covers only an angular segment of the hemispherical dome; and the grooves stop short of the apex of the dome.

Ce dôme comporte un prisme intégré dans une partie (68) de sa surface externe, de manière à réfléchir la lumière vers le bas à travers ladite prise. Le dôme est hémisphérique et le prisme comporte une pluralité de rainures qui s'étendent le long de grands cercles passant par le sommet du dôme. Le prisme ne couvre qu'une partie angulaire du dôme hémisphérique et les rainures s'arrêtent net au niveau du sommet du dôme.
