MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR FOR JOINING ROTATABLE BODIES Abstract of the Invention An interconnect device for mechanically and electrically joining two bodies in a rotational relationship comprises a tubular member secured to one of the bodies and extending through the other of the bodies. A spring cooperating with the tubular member holds the bodies in an abutting relationship and electrical wires extend through the tubular member into each of the bodies in a manner to permit rotation of one of the bodies in relation to the other. The electrical wires ex- rend from two ends and a central portion of the tubular member. The device is adapted for use in a hand-held optical character reader and facilitates the handling thereof.
