A tumbler for artificially ageing the appearance of surfaces, edges, and corners of concrete blocks is provided. The tumbler comprises a container having a longitudinal axis and comprising a plurality of compartments, each compartment being separated from an adjacent compartment by a partition transverse to the longitudinal axis of the container. The tumbler further comprises a door coupled to the container, the door being movable from a first position to a second position. In the first position, the door allows the concrete blocks to be loaded into or unloaded from at least one of the plurality of compartments. In the second position, the door maintains the concrete blocks within the at least one of the plurality of compartments such that rotation of the container about the longitudinal axis causes the concrete blocks to tumble and collide with each other. Also provided is an apparatus for artificially ageing the appearance of concrete blocks, the apparatus comprising a frame and a plurality of such tumblers rotatably coupled to the frame.
