A tumbler (2) which is characterised in that between the filling opening (20) and the delivery opening (26), the cavity (21) in the tumbler is divided into a number of sections (30, 32) to which the bodies are transferred by a conveyor unit (36) which extends through the tumbler (2), combined with a discharge/recycling arrangement (28) for individual and controlled discharge of the bodies from the tumbler. The conveyor unit (36) also comprises a bottom section with a worm conveyor for recirculation of the supply of sawdust to the respective sections. The tumbler (2) can thus be emptied and filled without having to stop operations, and is also suitable for use in the tumbling of pelts respectively with the leather side outermost or with the fur side outermost, so that the tumbler replaces two or three tumblers which are normally to be found in a pelt processing plant.

L'invention porte sur un tambour (2) caractérisé en ce qu'entre l'ouverture de remplissage (20) et l'ouverture de distribution (26), la cavité (21) du tambour est divisée en un nombre de sections (30, 32) auxquelles les carcasses sont transférées par une unité de transport (36) s'étendant à travers le tambour (2) et combinée avec un dispositif de décharge/recyclage (28) pour la décharge individuelle et contrôlée des carcasses contenues dans le tambour. L'unité de transport (36) comprend également une section de fond munie d'un transporteur à vis permettant la recirculation de la sciure dans les sections respectives. Le tambour (2) peut ainsi être vidé et rempli sans avoir à interrompre les opérations. Le tambour peut également être utilisé pour culbuter des peaux côté cuir ou côté fourrure à l'extérieur, remplaçant ainsi les deux ou trois tambours que l'on trouve normalement dans une installation de traitement des peaux.
