ABSTRACT: A tunable magnetron comprising a rotatable tuning body for producing a rapid variation of the tuning frequency of the magnetron. This rapid tuning variation is combined with a slow or quasi-stationary tuning variation produced by a second axially displaceable tuning body having conductive parts, which project into the resonance cavities from the opposite end of the said cavities as that, from which the first rotatable tuning body projects into the cavities. By an axial displacement of the second tuning body the whole tuning range caused by the first tuning body can be shifted along the frequency scale.
