ABSTRACT A tundish for continuous casting of a free- cutting steel comprises a molten steel teeming zone into which a low melting metal is added to a molten metal as a machinability element, a dispersing means provided in the flow path of the molten steel between the molten steel teeming zone and a discharge outlet for the molten steel, and a dam installed downstream the dispersing means.
