PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: L'invention a pour objet des catalyseurs de réfor- mage de produits pétroliers sous forme massique ou supportée, par exemple sur alumine ou charbon actif, dont la partie active est constituée de carbures de tungstène et de molybdène de formule générale: (Mox W1-x)y Cz dans laquelle 0 < x < 1 ; 1 ? y ? 2 ; et 0,8 < z < 1. L'invention concerne également une méthode de réformage de produit pétrolier où les catalyseurs utilisés subissent une nitruration préalable dans un mélange H2 + N2 pour considéra- blement augmenter leur activité et leur sélectivité. Ces catalyseurs présentent l'avantage d'être peu sensibles à l'empoisonnement par les produits soufrés.
