A hollow cooled turbine airfoil (18) is provided having pressure and suction side walls and a plurality of trailing edge cooling passages (56;) that feed cooling air bleed slots (58) at the trailing edge (26). The suction side wall (50) has a selectively reduced thickness, which allows shortened trailing edge slots (58), improving trailing edge cooling.
