14 54,390 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A system for monitoring the vibration of a plurality of turbine blades configured in a row includes first and second sensors for producing first and second input signals, respectively, when a turbine blade is sensed. The first and second sensors are mounted to substantially simultaneously sense the same turbine blade. Circuitry compares the first and second in put signals to detect axial displacement. An output device is responsive to the detected displacement.
