- 1 - Abstract: Each of a series of nozzle blades constituting a stage of an axial-flow rotary machine, e.g. a turbine, has its rear edge so modified in shape that a chord length thereof is greatest in a central part of the blade length and gradually decreases towards the blade end parts away from the central part. The clearance from an outlet end of the turbine nozzle to an inlet end of a turbine impeller located on a wake flow side in the axial direction becomes smallest in the central part of the blade length of the turbine nozzles and gradually increases towards the blade end parts away from the central part.
