ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A wind turbine rotor is disclosed of the type having an annular shroud fixedly secured to peripheral portions of the blades of the rotor. The shroud is shaped so as to generate a lift force resulting in suction at the axially downstream end of the annular space circumscribed by the blades. The profile of the shroud is designed to produce the effective angle of attack of the profile such as to increase circulation flow about the profile. The invention increases efficiency of the turbine.
