A supercharged internal combustion engine comprises a turbocharger which comprises a turbine and compressor. The turbine comprises a turbine housing and a turbine rotor while the compressor comprises a compressor housing and a compressor impeller. The turbocharger further has a housing which includes the turbine housing and the compressor housing. Support means that are adapted to support the turbocharger and includes a portion disposed intermediate the turbine and compressor is also included in the engine. The portion has a respective first face and a second face arranged parallel to and spaced apart from the first face such that the portion intermediate the first and second faces constitutes a portion of the turbocharger housing.
