TURBODRILL ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to drilling equipment. The turbodrill disclosed consists of a shell attached to the drilling string and provided with an opening in the side surface enabling the drilling fluid to escape therefrom. Contained in the shell is a multistage turbine with an inlet chamber and an outlet one. The inlet chamber is hydraulically linked up with the drilling string, and the outlet chamber communicates with an annular space between the shell and the wall of well by way of the opening in the shell. The turbodrill incorporates a hollow shaft supported in the shell by radial bearings and a thrust bearing. The bore of the shaft is hydraulically linked up with the drilling string and with a space provided above the nozzles of the hit. According to the invention seals keeping the drilling fluid out of the space contained wherein is the thrust bearing are provided in an annular space between the shell and the shaft. The turbodrill disclosed in constructed so that its thrust bearing operates under the conditions conducive to a slow rate of wear. The present invention can be used to advantage in turbodrills employed for the drilling of deep oil and natural gas wells under difficult geological conditions as well as in those intended to drill directional wells.
