ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A turbulence insert of a headbox of a papermaking machine is provided that includes a bundle of tubes for guiding a flow of materials from a first, inlet, region to a second, outlet, region. The tube bundle is includes edge tubes that have no adjacent tube on at least one longitudinal side and central tubes that have at least one adjacent tube on each longitudinal side. At least two adjacent edge tubes are provided that are joined with each other at least on one part of their length.
