Abstract of the Disclosure A turntable assembly for supporting a chair and which includes a lower rigid plate for mounting in a non-rotatable manner on a suitable base and an upper plate rotatably supported on the lower plate. The two plates are interconnected by means of a radial bearing and an axial bear- ing with the axial bearing being disposed radially outwardly of the radial bearing. The axial bearing consists of two axially opposed rings of slightly yieldable material, such as nylon, non-rotatably connected to respective ones of the plate. An intermediate ring of hard material is disposed between the two rings and means are provided for restricting lateral displaccment of the intermediate ring retaining the same between the outer rings.
