TWIN-SEAL COAXIAL CABLE SPLICE ABSTRACT This invention is a splice connector which is used to integrate two RG-type coaxial cables both electrically and mechanically. The connector is presented as a three-piece device comprised of a central splice body assembly and two identical nut body assemblies. Each nut body assembly is fitted over RG-type cable which is then trimmed and installed over the central splice body. Each nut body is then mated with corresponding threads on the central splice body. This process results in a continous electrical signal and ground, as well as complete mechanical retention of both cables and moisture-proof sealing throughout the splice connection. Three unique components serve as the main focus of this invention: a splice body which serves to join together all other parts of the connector system; a nut body, which contains an internal clamp and moisture seal, which acts indirectly to captivatc and ssal RG-type cable; and a clamp which acts directly to enclose and retain mechanically the RG type cable.
