This appliance (twin vertical jack connector) contains two standard phone jacks encased in a strong plastic cover facing downward to allow for the movement of objects closer to the wall where there is a wall phone jack outlet. Since the phone jacks faces downwards instead of horizontally, this will also give more protection to phone wires since they will not be pressed against object moved to the adjacent wall phone outlet.
