ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A twin-wire former in a paper making machine having a web-carrying wire and a web-pressing wire, each of the wires forming a loop, a web-forming roll and a couch roll being provided in the web-carrying wire loop. The former is characterized by at least one rotary formation-guiding roll displaceably situated inside the covering wire, between the forming roll and the couch roll where the web-carrying wire and the web-pressing wire travel along a common path from the web-forming roll to a point where the carrying wire is tangent to the couch roll. The at least one formation guiding roll presses both the web-carrying and web-pressing wires and accomplishes a bend in the common path of travel of said wires toward the web-carrying wire.
