ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a data processing system constructed in accordance with safety principles - e.g. for a railway control system, one microcomputer is provided for each processing channel. The items of information to be emitted to the process are determined by means of the two microcomputers and conducted in pairs to two comparators (which do not need to be of special safe design) each of which controls an AND gate. Each of the AND gates is connected to an amplifier, the power supply of one AND gate being provided by a battery and the power supply of the other amplifier being provided by the output signals, coupled via a transformer, of the first mentioned amplifier. The items of information required for the process are conducted via at least one further amplifier whose power supply is provided by the output signals, coupled via a transformer, of the second amplifier. In the event of a signal discrepancy between the two microcomputers, no items of information which could lead to danger are emitted to the process.
