The present invention is directed to two component coating compositions that cure under ambient conditions and more particularly to those having low VOC (volatile organic content) that are suitable for use in automotive refinish and Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) applications. The coating composition includes crosslinkable and crosslinking components, wherein the crosslinkable component includes a low polydispersity, low molecular weight copolymer having on an average 2 to 25 functional groups, such as hydroxyl, amine, acetoacetoxy and secondary amine. The copolymer is polymerized from a monomer mixture that includes one or more non-functional acrylate monomers and one or more functional methacrylate monomers provided with the functional groups. The crosslinking component includes polyisocyanate, ketimine, melamine, or a combination thereof. The invention is also directed to coating produced from the coating composition.
L'invention concerne des compositions de revêtement à deux composants qui durcissent dans des conditions ambiantes et plus particulièrement des compositions à faible teneur organique volatile, qui s'utilisent dans des applications de remise à neuf d'automobiles et de fabrication d'équipements automobiles. La composition de revêtement comprend des composants réticulables et réticulants, le composant réticulable comprenant un copolymère de faible polydispersité, de faible poids moléculaire, présentant une moyenne de 2 à 25 groupes fonctionnels, comme hydroxyle, carboxyle, acéto-acétoxy, amine primaire et secondaire et époxy. Le copolymère est polymérisé à partir d'un mélange monomère comprenant un ou plusieurs monomères acrylate non fonctionnels et un ou plusieurs monomères méthacrylate fonctionnels dotés des groupes fonctionnels. Le composant de réticulation comprend polyisocyanate, polyamine, cétimine, mélanine, époxy, polyacide ou une combinaison des différents constituants. L'invention concerne également des revêtements produits à l'aide de ladite composition de revêtement.
