ABSTRACT There is provided a hand-held steam curler which includes a handle, an open-ended metallic cylinder with perforations, which extends forwardly from the handle, a cylindrical member mounted within the metallic cylinder with a closed end remote from the handle, and being spaced inwardly from the cylinder to define an annular space, a heating element inside the cylindrical member, and a rotatable barrel of cylindrical form surrounding the cylinder and spaced outwardly therefrom to define a further annular space. The steam curler includes first means mounted on the end of the cylinder remote from the handle to maintain one end of the barrel spaced from the cylinder while the barrel rotates, and second means proximate to the handle and fixed with respect thereto, for maintaining the other end of the barrel spaced from the cylinder while the barrel rotates. The first means includes a steam producing means capable of creating steam by bringing water into con- tact with the heated closed end of the cylindrical member.
