ABSTRACT There is provided a hand-held electrical steam hair curler which includes a handle, a cylinder secured to and supported by the handle, and a hair-curling barrel surrounding the cylinder and rotatable thereabout. The combination further includes means for producing steam in the cylinder in order to supply the same to wave hair wound about the barrel, and releasable locking means normally preventing rotation of the barrel about the cylinder, whereby when the barrel is released, hair may be unwound therefrom by rotation of the barrel with respect to the cylinder.
