- 1 - Title: TWO-PART MOLD CORE Inventor: Henry Norihiko Shoji ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In the molding of thin walled plastic con- tainers, it is important that the mold core be rigid, and at the same time include a cooling water passageway and means for releasing the container from the core. Dis- closed is a two-part core where an inner core part, or plug is clamped into abutment with an outer core part at an annular interface, part of which is relieved to provide a gap through which air can be blown to release the container. The plug includes a cylindrical male portion which fits into the outer mold part. A cooling water passage is formed by an external groove of helical form on the inner core part.
