TWO-PASS DRAWING TECHNIQUE FOR CREATING HIGH STRENGTH TUBING ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of producing high performance cartridge cases by processing alloy steels of interest into high strength tubing is disclosed which includes subjecting the annealed alloy steel of interest to at least two passes of drawing in which the total area reduction of each pass is such that the exit temperature of the drawn alloy steel of interest remains below a temperature which will effect austenite to martensite transformation and age hardening the material of interest. The alloy steel of interest is one selected from a group of alloys consisting of metal that undergo phase transformation during work hardening.
