There is provided a new and useful transport device connected to a conveyer for use in moving lumber from a chain assembly carrying the lumber through a drop sorter to individual bins. The device comprises a first and second portion constructed so as to mateably engage to form a shearable J-bar, wherein in use, the first portion is secured to the conveyor chain and the second portion is shearable from the first portion which facilitates removal of the second portion when jamming between the lumber and the chain assembly occurs and the movement of the device becomes obstructed relative to the lumber or the chain assembly.
