A connector assembly for attaching a hardware component and a trim panel to a vehicular structure includes a shank (18) and a head (20). The shank has a head end (22) and an anchor end (24) for securing the hardware component to the vehicular structure. The head has a trim retaining end and a shank engaging end.(42) The trim retaining end secures the connector assembly (10) to a trim panel. A break neck (50) is disposed between the shank engaging end and the trim retaining end of the head. Upon application of a load to the head, the head breaks from the shank at the break neck, allowing the removal of the trim panel from the hardware component and the vehicular structure.

L'invention concerne un ensemble connecteur pour la fixation d'un élément constitutif et d'un panneau de garnissage à une structure de véhicule, comprenant une tige (18) et une tête (20). La tige (18) comporte elle-même une tête (22) et une extrémité de fixation (24) permettant de fixer l'élément à la structure de véhicule. La tête (20) comporte une extrémité de retenue de garnissage et une extrémité d'encastrement avec la tige (42). L'extrémité de fixation d'élément fixe l'ensemble connecteur (10) au panneau de garnissage. Un col de rupture (50) est prévu entre l'extrémité d'encastrement avec la tige et l'extrémité de fixation d'élément. Lorsqu'une charge est appliquée à la tête (20), celle-ci se sépare de la tige au niveau du col en question, permettant le retrait du panneau de garnissage par rapport à l'élément et à la structure de véhicule.
