ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An electrostatic precipitator having an ionizing section including a series of positively charged fine wires in equally spaced parallel relationship and a collector section including alternate positive and negative plates equally spaced and parallel with the ionizing wires. Three negative plates of the collector section are extended into the ionizing section adjacent each wire to provide an ionizing electrostatic field having three components.
