A two-stage process for obtaining a substantial amount of olefinic product from a residua feedstock. The first stage is comprised of a thermal process unit containing a reaction zone comprised of a horizontal moving bed of fluidized hot particles operated at temperatures from about 500 to 600 ~C and having a short vapor residence time, and the second stage thermal conversion zone operated at a temperature of about 700 ~C to about 1100 ~C, and also having a short vapor residence time.

L'invention concerne un procédé à deux étages, permettant de produire un produit oléfinique en grande quantité à partir d'une charge d'alimentation résiduelle. Le premier étage comporte une unité de traitement thermique contenant une zone de réaction constituée d'un lit horizontal mobile formé de particules chaudes fluidisées, exploitée à des températures d'environ 500 à 600 ·C et présentant un temps de résidence dans la vapeur faible. Le second étage présente une zone de thermoconversion exploitée à une température d'environ 700 ·C à 1 100 ·C et ayant également un faible temps de résidence dans la vapeur.
