"TWO STEP PROCESS FOR SELECTIVELY ISOMERIZING OLEFINS IN GASOLINE STREAMS" ABSTRACT Olefins in a gasoline boiling range feed stream also containing highly unsaturated hydrocarbons are selectively isomerized by a two step process involving treating the feed stream to reduce the content of highly unsaturated hydrocarbons to form a stable olefinic stream and thereafter contacting the stabilized olefinic stream with an isomerization catalyst containing at least one medium pore molecular sieve at olefin isomerization conditions effective to produce an isomerized product stream having a ratio of branched to unbranched olefins of at least 2:1. The process features yields of C5+ isomerized product and avoids conversion of highly branched paraffins to equilibrium values.
