A process for applying a two-tone color effect coating to a substrate including applying an accent powder basecoating composition including film- forming material; reaction product as described herein; flow control agent; and first color effect additive, to a first predetermined portion of a surface of a substrate; at least partially curing the accent basecoating; applying a main liquid or powder basecoating composition having a different color effect additive to a second predetermined portion of the substrate, such that a portion of the accent basecoat is not contacted by the main basecoating composition; at least partially curing the main basecoating composition; applying a topcoating composition over the accent basecoat and main basecoat and curing the resulting composite coating, such that the first portion of the substrate has a different color effect than the second portion of the substrate to provide a two-tone color effect coated substrate.
L'invention concerne un procédé d'application d'un revêtement à effet ton sur ton sur un substrat, consistant à appliquer une composition de couche de base accent en poudre contenant un matériau filmogène, un produit de réaction, un agent de régulation de débit, et un premier additif à effet couleur sur une première partie prédéterminée d'une surface d'un substrat, à faire durcir au moins partiellement la couche de base accent, à appliquer une composition de couche de base principale liquide ou en poudre avec un additif à effet couleur différent sur une seconde partie prédéterminée du substrat, de manière qu'une partie de la couche de base accent ne soit pas en contact avec la composition de la couche de base principale, à faire durcir au moins partiellement la composition de la couche de base principale, à appliquer une composition de couche supérieure sur la couche de base accent et la couche de base principale, et à faire durcir le revêtement composite obtenu de manière que la première partie du substrat présente un effet couleur différent de celui de la seconde partie du substrat afin d'obtenir un substrat revêtu avec un effet couleur ton sur ton.
