In a two-way paging system including a paging terminal (105), a plurality of paging transmitters (103), a plurality of paging receivers (109), and a plurality of two-way paging units (111), the plurality of two-way paging units (111) transmitting reverse channel messages to the paging receivers (109) in a time division multiplexed protocol, the protocol including a frame with a plurality of reverse channel time slots (201), a method of assigning reverse channel time slots to the paging units is disclosed. The method comprises: (a) determining a set of transmitting paging units from the plurality of two-way paging units that are to transmit a reverse channel message, and (b) randomly assigning each of the transmitting paging units in the set of transmitting paging units one of the reverse channel time slots (203) in the frame.

L'invention porte également sur un procédé d'attribution d'intervalles de temps de voie de retour aux unités de recherche de personnes, qui consiste à : (a) déterminer un ensemble d'unités de recherche de personnes d'émission à partir de la pluralité d'unités de recherche de personnes bidirectionnelles devant émettre un message de voie de retour, et (b) attribuer de façon aléatoire à chacune des unités de recherche de personnes d'émission de l'ensemble d'unités de recherche de personnes d'émission un des intervalles de temps de voie de retour (203) dans la trame.
