The object is to provide a two-wheel-drive/four-wheel-drive switching system for a vehicle wherein noise is reduced and a state of drive can be securely indicated. A two-wheel-drive/four-wheel-drive switching system for a vehicle according to the invention is provided with a switching unit 31 provided to either of power transmission mechanisms connecting an engine 2 and a front wheel 4, and the engine 2 and a rear wheel 5 via final reduction gear units 13 and 14 for enabling or disabling the transmission of power in the power transmission mechanism and indication control means for detecting that the transmission of power is made in the power transmission mechanism and lighting an indicator 64, and is characterized in that the indication control means detects phase difference in revolution between a pair of final reduction gear units and lights or puts out the indicator when the phase difference is in a predetermined range.
