A process comprising contacting a gallium phthalocyanine in an acid solution with a basic aqueous media; and contacting the resulting mixture with at least two solvents selected from at least two of the groups consisting of polar aprotic solvents, esters, and ketones. The type V hydroxygallium phthalocyanine may be used as a photogenerating component in a photoreceptor.

Procédé consistant à mettre en contact une phtalocyanine de gallium dans une solution acide avec un milieu aqueux basique, et à mettre en contact le mélange résultant avec au moins deux solvants sélectionnés parmi au moins deux des groupes suivants : solvants polaires aprotiques, esters et cétones. La phtalocyanine d"hydroxygallium de type V peut être employée comme composante photogénératrice dans un photorécepteur.
