ABSTRACT A tyre and wheel rim assembly comprising a rim having a flat ledge between the outboard bead seat and a tyre fitting well, at least two annular grooves or recesses being formed in the ledge and the tyre having a radially extending toe portion normally seated in the outer groove or recess such that in extreme sideforce conditions the toe maybe held in the other groove to prevent the bead entering the well.
