The invention concerns a tyre comprising at least a radial body ply (2) anchored in each tyre bead (B) to at least one bead wire (1) to form a ply turn-up (20), characterised in that, viewed in meridian cross-section, the body ply (2) has a meridian profile whereof the outline, between point A of the largest axial width and point T tangent with the circumscribed circle at the casing layer (10) of the anchoring bead wire (1), is convex over its whole length, and such that the thickness epsilon of the tyre bead (B), measured in a plane perpendicular to said meridian profile at a point C of height hc, ranging between 30 and 40 mm and measured relative to the base YY' ranges between 2.5 and 3.0 times the thickness e of the sidewall measured on the straight line D" of the largest axial width, said body ply (2) being reinforced in its non upturned part, with a supplementary reinforcing ply (6) formed by at least one ply (61) of circumferential reinforcing elements axially arranged inside said non-upturned part.
Pneumatique, comprenant au moins une armature de carcasse radiale (2), ancrée dans chaque bourrelet B à au moins une tringle (1) pour former un retournement (20), caractérisé en ce que, vue en section méridienne, l'armature de carcasse (2) a un profil méridien dont le tracé, compris entre le point A de plus grande largeur axiale et le point de tangence T avec le cercle circonscrit à la couche d'enrobage (10) de la tringle d'ancrage (1), est convexe sur toute sa longueur, et tel que l'épaisseur e du bourrelet B, mesurée sur une perpendiculaire audit profil méridien en un point C de hauteur h c, comprise entre 30 et 40 mm et mesurée par rapport à la base YY', soit comprise entre 2,5 et 3,0 fois l'épaisseur e du flanc mesurée sur la droite D" de plus grande largeur axiale, ladite armature de carcasse (2) étant renforcée dans sa partie non retournée, par une armature additionnelle de renforcement (6) formée d'au moins une nappe (61) d'éléments de renforcements circonférentiels disposée axialement à l'intérieur de ladite partie non retournée.
