The invention concerns a tyre (21) with radial carcass reinforcement (22) comprising a crown reinforcement (24) consisting of at least two working crown plies (241, 242) of inextensible reinforcing elements, crossed from one ply to the next while forming with the circumferential direction angles ranging between 10° and 45°, itself radially capped with a running tread (25). The tyre further comprises at least in each shoulder one layer (243) of circumferentially oriented reinforcing elements, the axially inner end of said additional layer being radially adjacent the edge of the radially outermost working crown ply (242), the axially outer end of said additional layer being located at a distance from the equatorial plane not less than the distance (L242) separating from said plane the end of the working ply whereto it is adjacent and the distance (d) between said layer (243) and the end of the of the axially widest working crown ply (241) being greater than 1,5 mm.
L'invention concerne un pneumatique (21) à armature de carcasse radiale (22) comprenant une armature de sommet (24) formée d'au moins deux couches de sommet de travail (241,242) d~éléments de renforcement inextensibles, croisés d'une nappe à l'autre en faisant avec la direction circonférentielle des angles compris entre 10~ et 45~, elle-même coiffée radialement d'une bande de roulement (25). Le pneumatique comprend additionnellement au moins dans chaque épaule une couche (243) d'éléments de renforcement orientés circonférentiellement, l'extrémité axialement intérieure de ladite couche additionnelle étant radialement adjacente au bord de la couche de sommet de travail radialement la plus à l'extérieur (242), l'extrémité axialement extérieure de ladite couche additionnelle étant située à une distance du plan équatorial au moins égale à la distance (L242) séparant dudit plan l'extrémité de la couche de travail à laquelle elle est adjacente et la distance (d) entre ladite couche (243) et l'extrémité de la couche de sommet de travail axialement la plus large (241) étant supérieure à 1.5 mm.
