A patent is sought for a new application, called UCR, that separates hydrocarbons from earth, sand, tarsand and oilsands. The current process for separating hydrocarbons from water, sand, oilsands, tarsands and earth is inefficient. The use of UCR, which is a combination of polyurethane and wollasontite, increases the efficiency in which the hydrocarbons can be recovered. The combination, which looks and acts like a sponge, attracts hydrocarbons. The hydrocarbons can be removed from the UCR by the use of pressure to squeeze the sponge. After the hydrocarbons are removed from the UCR, the UCR can be used again. The process works for hydrocarbons contained in earth, sand, oilsands and tarsands.
