UHF TUNER WITH INDIVIDUAL CHANNEL STEP SELECTION Abstract of the Disclosure This invention relates to a channel selector suit- able for use in a television receiver set. The channel selector includes a channel selecting shaft which is linked to a variable capacitor shaft through an Oldham coupler and has a fine tuning shaft which is linked to the variable capacitor shaft through a spring-notch coupler. Selection of a channel is made by turning the capacitor shaft through a wide angle (for instance about 2"°) by turning the channel selection shaft. When the channel selection shaft is turned, the spring-notch coupler temporarily slips so as to allow the variable capacitor shaft to turn freely from a fine tuner. Fine tuning for a selected channel is made by very slightly (for instance, within 0.3°) turning the shaft of the variable capacitor by the fine tuner through adjust- ment of the fine tuning shaft. The channel selector also has a memory for memorizing the results of the fine adjustments for individual channels. In the present invention the memory includes several memory cams, each of which memorizes the result of adjustment for several neighboring channels. Because each of the memory cams serves to memorize the results of fine tuning for several channels, the memory can be made compact and simple.
