A method and apparatus (5) for ul- tra-high particulate collection of sub-micron aerosols in a fuel gas conveys the fuel gas to a first venturi scrubber (10) for removing a relatively large amount of particulates and leaving a smaller particulate load which is not removable in the first venturi scrubber (10). The fuel gas with the smaller particulate load is then conveyed to an electrostatic agglom- erator (12) for agglomerating the remaining smaller particles in the smaller particle load into larger particles. The fuel gas with the agglomerated larger particles is then conveyed to a second venturi scrubber (14) for remov- ing the agglomerated larger particles.

L'invention a trait à un procédé et appareil (5) de collecte particulaire ultra-fine d'aérosols submicroniques dans un gaz combustible, ledit appareil acheminant ce gaz combustible vers un premier laveur à Venturi (10) servant à éliminer une quantité relativement grande de particules et à laisser une charge particulaire plus petite qui ne peut pas être éliminée dans ce premier laveur (10). Le gaz combustible doté de la charge particulaire moins importante est amené dans un agglomérateur électrostatique (12) permettant d'agglomérer en des particules plus grosses les particules plus petites restantes dans la charge particulaire plus petite. Le gaz combustible doté des particules plus grosses agglomérées est alors acheminé vers un second laveur à Venturi (14) en vue d'éliminer les particules agglomérées plus grosses.
