A mother battery is used which includes at least the following films: a metallic lithium anode, a polymer electrolyte conducting the alkaline ions of the anode and also acting as a separator between the electrodes, a composite cathode made up of a reducible lithium or sodium compound, an electronic conduction additive and a polymer electrolyte binder, a thin electronic conductive coating on the outside of the anode and, optionally, on the cathode, the conductive material of which is chemically inert with respect to the electrode material and which also establishes permanent electrical contacts in the outside of the cut up batteries. The said large-surface laminated mother battery is cut up mechanically and at least partially charged. Thin polymer electrolyte and lithium or sodium anode batteries are obtained. The batteries cut up in this way essentially keep their voltage after mechanical cutting.

On prend une pile-mère comportant au minimum les films suivants: une anode de lithium métallique, un électrolyte polymère conducteur des ions alcalins de l'anode et agissant également comme séparateur entre les électrodes, une cathode composite constituée d'un composé réductible au lithium ou au sodium, d'un additif de conduction électronique et d'un liant électrolyte polymère, un revêtement conducteur électronique mince sur la face externe de l'anode et, optionellement de la cathode, dont le matériau conducteur est chimiquement inerte vis-à-vis du matériau d'électrode et qui sert également à établir les contacts électriques permanents sur les faces externes des piles découpées. On effectue ensuite une découpe mécanique à vif de ladite pile-mère laminée de plus grande surface et au moins partiellement chargée. On obtient des piles minces à électrolyte polymère et à anode de lithium ou de sodium. Les piles ainsi découpées conservent sensiblement leur voltage après la découpe mécanique.
