A delivery system for attaching and detaching an ultrasonic surgical blade/coupler (14) and an acoustical mount. An adaptor sleeve (34) receives and encapsulates the sharp blade (20) to avoid accidents. In a two-piece embodiment hereof, a cylindrical member (18) receives the sleeve and a ratcheting mechanism is provided between the adaptor (16) and member (18) to facilitate rotation of the adaptor (16) and coupler (14) upon rotation of the member (18) up to a predetermined torque, ensuring threaded connection between the coupler (14) and acoustical mount (30) sufficient for transmission of ultrasonic energy. In a one-piece embodiment thereof, the adaptor (80) integrally carries an element (82) pivotal for movement about an axis parallel to the axis of the sleeve (8A) to engage one or the other of, projections (94, 96) on the adaptor-flange (90) to rotate the adaptor (80) in either direction. In one direction, the element (82) slips past the projection at a predetermined magnitude of torque.

Dans un sens, l'élément (82)glisse au-delà de la partie saillante, lorsque le système déctecte une intensité de couple de rotation prédéterminée.
