ABSTRACT An ultrasonic gas measuring device for continuously monitoring a gas includes a housing comprising a chamber having a gas inlet through a first wall, and a gas outlet provided through a second wall, the gas inlet and said gas outlet provided communicating through the chamber for passage of a gas to be measured. Ultrasonic means has a transmitter connected to the wall of the housing, and a receiver at a spaced location provided at another wall of the housing for transmission of its ultrasonic wave along the chamber for transfer of its waves through the passing gas. The concentration of the gas is measured by the ultrasonic waves of the ultrasonic means through resistance to the movement of the ultrasonic waves through the gas being measured as the gas and waves pass through the chamber of the housing means. Electronic means operatively associated with the housing, and its ultrasonic means, measures the concentration of the gas flowing through the measuring device. Display means is provided for displaying the concentration of the measured gas, timing means operatively associated with the electronic means measuring the concentration of the gas during a first time period, and the display means displaying the measured gas for a select time period.
