An ultrasonic surgical liposuction apparatus (10) comprises a piezo-crystal transducer assembly (46) which is connectible with a push rod (14) within the housing (12) that allows the use of interchangeable operative probe (40, 25). The probe (40) can be hollow if aspiration of the fatty tissue is desired, or it can be a solid probe (25).
